October 5th - Matt Regitz

After graduating from Texas A&M and pursuing an oilfield sales career Matt took a leap of faith and became the youth minster at his parish in Houston, Texas. The mission has grown to include parishes around the world as he serves as a global leadership coach with Divine Renovation Ministries. Matt and bride, Stephanie, started Survive and Thrive Ministries to share their story of healing and hope with other families. The rest of the Regitz clan includes their four kids at home and a daughter in heaven, Mary Clare, love soccer games, barbecues, minivan road trip, and the communal life.

November 9th - Katie Hartfiel

Katie Hartfiel received her Theology degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville and spent the following seven years serving as a youth minister in Houston. She now feels blessed to spend her days with her husband, Mark, and their four children, while still getting to travel to speak about Jesus.

Jan. 11th - Michael Gormley

Michael has been leading evangelization and ministry efforts for the past 10 years, both as a full-time parish staff member and as a speaker and consultant for parishes, dioceses, and Catholic campus ministries. He has his Undergraduate Degrees in both Philosophy and Theology, and a Masters in Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry, from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Evangelization at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands. Michael is also the founder and creative director of LayEvangelist.com, and the producer and cohost of a Catholic young adult podcast Catching Foxes, which discusses the collision of Faith and Culture. He is married to his college sweetheart, Shannon, and they have about 1,000 children and get about 3 hours of sleep a night, which is alright by him.

Feb. 8th - Chris Stefanick - "Reboot"

On Wednesday, February 8th - we will be offering a special night at Zion titled "Reboot" with our keynote speaker - Chris Stefanick. Chris is an internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and television host who has devoted his life to inspiring people to live a bold, contagious faith.

God did not create us just to “get by” in this world; He created us to live life, and live it to the full. Come learn more about the beauty of our faith, the love that Jesus has for YOU, and how we are meant to live out this JOY in our daily lives.

Reboot! is suitable for ages 12 and up, so bring the whole family, and bring a friend. While this does fall on a normal Zion night, the format will be changing a little bit for this evening. Mar. 8th - Fr. Houston Okonma

Fr. Houston was born on February 4 in Houston. He is the oldest of four, his dad named him “Houston” because he wanted him to be as big, great, and industrious as the city that adopted him. His parents are immigrants from Nigeria. They sought a life of stability and growth in the United States. Hence, the priesthood was a far departure from the idea of doctor, engineer, lawyer, or Mayor of Houston, TX.

Father served mass at his home parish, St. Christopher, with his siblings for well over a decade before going to seminary. Serving mass proved great in his future calling to the priesthood. He is a first-generation Nigerian American, and he sought to be a great example for his siblings to follow. There was a abundant need for priests in the Church, something he realized early but did not, at first, want to embrace.

He attended Cornelius Elementary, Ortiz Middle School, and DeBakey High School for Health Professions, with aspirations to continue in the medical field. Prior to college during confirmation preparation, he selected the saint name of “Peter” to always remind him of the priesthood and its possibility. He realized that this vocation would allow him to be a rock in the lives of many.

He studied Nutritional Sciences at the University of Houston, where he found the notion of the priesthood as a destiny that he welcomed with great openness, instead of an obligatory burden. After graduation from the University of Houston, Father went to St. Ben’s Seminary in Louisiana for minor seminary, and subsequently St. Mary’s Seminary for major seminary. Instead of becoming a doctor of the human body, he was called to stand in as a doctor of the soul. This is a path uncharted for Nigerians born and raised in the United States, but it is one that he embraced. Father came to realize that there is more to life than wealth, titles, and honor.

Apr. 12th - Ennie Hickman

For over two decades, Ennie Hickman’s pursuit of Gospel joy has helped transform the lives of countless people. He has served as a youth minister, coach, domestic missionary, international speaker, nonprofit president, and currently serves The Saint Constantine School in Houston, Texas. In 2019, after 10 years leading Adore Ministries, Ennie and his wife, Cana, founded Del Rey Collective to empower individuals and families to live on mission in ordinary life. Ennie, Cana, and their eight (going on nine!) children aim to follow Jesus’ commands to love God and their neighbors while accompanying people in this beautiful, messy, life of joy.
