Once you have formed a Small Group and completed The Search, we encourage you to pray and discern with your group where it is that you are being led to next. Consider one of the resources listed below. If you don’t find exactly what your group is looking for, please contact us and we will be happy to make other suggestions. If your group has used a resource that you really like that is (or is not on this list) let us know so we can offer the recommendation to all the Small Christian Communities.
Lent 2023 Resource
Fall 2022 Resource
Our fall 2022 resource for our Small Christian Communities is the book "Amazed and Afraid" from The Evangelical Catholic. The book features six sessions that have a scene about Jesus and his followers, followed by a series of questions meant to help participants begin to reflect more deeply about their relationship with Jesus. An "Encountering Christ This Week" section provides additional Scripture passages to encourage participants to spend at least fifteen minutes each day in personal prayer. This series helps put the Scriptures in a historical-cultural context, teach participants how to pray, provide discussion guidelines for small groups, and encourage the celebration of the sacraments.
The cost of these books is $3, and they are currently available in the Community and Education Center. Please let us know how many copies your SCC needs by sending an email to scc@saintfaustinachurch.org.

The Word Became Flesh (Bishop Barron - Word on Fire)
“The Word became flesh and lived among us.” These words of St. John the Evangelist express the foundational mystery of the Catholic faith, which Christians around the world contemplate and celebrate every year during the Advent and Christmas seasons: the Incarnation. In this new book from Word on Fire, readers are offered a week-by-week guide through these sacred seasons with a series of reflections on the Messiah, the Annunciation, the Incarnation, the Journey to Bethlehem, the Nativity, and the Holy Family. Featuring key passages from Scripture, extended readings from Bishop Robert Barron, and hymns, poetry, prayers, and additional reflections from across two thousand years of Catholic tradition, The Word Became Flesh is a perfect companion guide for parishes, families, and individuals longing for a deeper encounter with Christ during Advent and Christmas.
