A Guardian Angel at St. Faustina parish is a volunteer dedicated to the safety and well-being of all children who are physically present on the parish’s campus to participate in a variety of activities such as faith formation, special celebrations, or events. We interact with children, our role is to be welcoming and compassionate while being observant and monitoring of the space and environment to ensure all children are safe.
A Guardian Angel is a person who loves and respects and enjoys being around children who understands and applies appropriate adult - child boundaries, is flexible and able to adjust to a fluid environment. Is physically and emotionally calm in challenging situations (no drama), has strong communication skills when talking with children, and has a strong sense of humor "cause kids do the strangest things".
Our focus and responsibility in this ministry is the safety of children that are participating in any child focused church activity. You will have the opportunity to exercise your situational awareness skills, communication skills with children, parents, staff and other volunteers. You will serve as a conduit of the Divine Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ through your love of children, with a compassionate and caring heart. You will receive training through the "Safe Haven" training , provided online through the Archdiocese and from the ministry leadership regarding specific duties while serving, emergency response and communication skills.
